THROWBACK: Everybody Needs A Little…TLC

TLC, not to be confused with the reality TV network, is one of the most iconic R&B girl groups in the ’90s and 2000s. Originally composed of T-Boz, Chilli, and Left-Eye, TLC came out with body rollin’ hits such as No Scrubs, Waterfalls, Creep, and Unpretty. Not only is their music amazing…but their outfits are pretty rad as well. Here’s an ode to cross coordination, baggy metallic pants, and sports bras that we know and love.

Ooooooooh… On the TLC tip

This look captures TLC at the beginning of their fame with their first album, Ooooooooh… On the TLC tip, and seems like the quintessential early 90′s look: bright oversized dungarees, converse shoes, and bandanas.

CrazySexyCool

CrazySexyCool is by far the best album by TLC with jams like Waterfalls (go go Jason Waterfalls), Creep, and my personal favourite, Diggin’ On You. These outfits embody the CrazySexyCool lifestyle: Crazy metallic baggy pants, sexy bralettes, and cool D&G underwear.

The most iconic song, No Scrubs, lies within the album Fanmail and still resonates with me to this day, e.g. don’t date anyone who hangs out the passenger side of his best friend’s ride because that’s dangerous. The music video made me believe that living in the future meant wearing leather pants, bralettes, and body harnesses… Welcome to the future!
